Raffles & lotteries
If you are organising a lottery or a prize draw it is your responsibility to ensure you are compliant with the laws applicable in your country/region of residence. If in doubt, you should seek legal advice.
We would like to draw your attention to the British law regarding the use of lotteries or raffles, which we know a number of Organisers use in their businesses. This includes the use of ‘Lucky Squares’ where a charge is made to purchase a square. Unless all funds are given to a good cause, you must have a licence to run a lottery or raffle.
Please see The Gambling Commission’s guides to running a Lottery or a Prize Draw.
Please note: We strongly advise that all Organisers based outside Great Britain ensure they are compliant with the law in the country that they reside in.
